The Bryston BDP-3 plays high-resolution digital audio from USB-attached drives, an optional internal drive or NAS, supporting PCM up to 384kHz / 32 bit and DSD128. Its AES/EBU and S/PDIF outputs use Bryston’s proprietary IAD Integrated Audio Device and require an external DAC, while the customised Linux operating system supports user-upgradable firmware.

The BDP-3 uses a customised Linux operating system designed for high-resolution audio playback. It supports files up to PCM 384kHz / 32 bit and DSD128 from digital storage devices. The player includes a high-current linear power supply, a custom Intel Celeron-powered motherboard and 8GB of RAM, providing responsive operation and capacity for future feature additions.
Digital audio outputs use Bryston's proprietary IAD Integrated Audio Device. The AES/EBU and S/PDIF outputs are impedance matched and transformer coupled for transmission to an external DAC. Jitter is reduced to virtually undetectable levels.
